The cost of vegetables has risen 2021

The cost of vegetables has risen 2021:The price of onion and tomato reached 40 to 45 rupees per kg, the maximum wholesale rate of potato also increased. Are vegetables getting expensive just because of rain?

Green vegetables have suffered heavy damage due to unseasonal rains. This has reduced the arrivals in the market. As a result, we are seeing an increase in the price of vegetables. Tomato, which was being sold at the rate of Rs 5 a kg last month, is now touching the price of Rs 40. Onion has also started selling at the same rate. The potato which is being sold from farmers at Rs.8/kg is not taking the name of being less than Rs.20/kg in the market. The price of top vegetables (Tomato Onion Potato) is an important contributor to increasing inflation. These days the price of two of these is increasing rapidly.

Due to incessant rains, the production of vegetables from the fields of the people in the villages has either reduced or stopped. Some people are busy preparing for planting paddy after uprooting the crop of vegetables. Due to this, the prices of vegetables like bitter gourd, bottle gourd and ladyfinger have also increased. Due to this, the price of tomatoes is also seeing a rise.

The cost of vegetables has risen because Middlemen and retailers earn more than farmers

A lot of onion crop has been destroyed in the rains due to the effect of two cyclones this year. Therefore, the price of onion has also reached 40 rupees in villages and 45 rupees per kg in cities.

However, farmers are not getting much benefit due to the cost of vegetables. According to Binod Anand, an expert in agriculture and rural economy, middlemen and retailers earn more money than farmers. Retailers sell two to five times the price of vegetables that farmers get.
